Overview TQ Group is a specialist communications company that develops content production and marketing work for leading South African firms.

Challenges

TQ Group was committed to driving transformation and producing a meaningful social impact. However, their transformation strategy was hampered by several organisational challenges.

  1. Monitoring: The company had not developed a process for measuring Transformation.
  2. Benchmarking: There was no formal baseline measure against which to assess progress.
  3. Strategy: The client did not have a formal roadmap for how programs would be deployed, nor had they set any clear strategic Transformation objectives.
  4. Verification: The company did not formalise a path to verification. 

Solution

OPERATIONAL ENHANCEMENT 

BEE123 started working with TQ Group in 2015. We started with a careful assessment of the company’s Transformation capacity, systems, and objectives.

To address the lack of monitoring, we helped establish monitoring capacity and processes. Together, we established a Monitoring Team and initiated a monthly monitoring process.

To measure progress, and ensure strategic goals were effectively aligned, Quarterly Reviews were set up, which were chaired by BEE123. The reviews enabled us to provide high-level strategic guidance, benchmark success and ensure the company continued to follow Compliance best practices

Results
OPERATIONAL ENHANCEMENT 
In partnership with BEE123, TQ Group made rapid, highly impressive progress, advancing from Level 4 to Level 1 within a period of 2 years. Successfully implementing a YES initiative was instrumental in helping the organisation achieve Levell.

Achieving long-term success
BEE123 continues to offer ongoing strategic guidance and monitoring. We have established benchmarks and a long-term goal-based plan to maintain Level 1 using BEE123’s suite of solutions.
